MRPL signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Dr. Shivarama Karantha Pilikula Nisarga Dhama, Vamanjoor, Mangaluru to take up the greenbelt development in Pilikula Biological Park (Deer park) at Pilikula Nisarga Dhama, Mangaluru.
In the project named “Let us plant a forest - Creation of Green Belt” MRPL will sponsor plantation and subsequent maintenance for a period of three years in 20 acres of land by planting 2000 plants in Pilikula Biological Park (Deer Park) at a financial cost of around Rs 30 Lakhs.
MRPL has been evincing keen interest in the development of green belt right from inception and a considerable area has already been brought under afforestation programme under green belt development within the refinery area. MRPL had contacted Pilikula Nisarga Dhama for allotment of land for developing green belt. Dr. Shivarama Karantha Pilikula Nisarga Dhama, Vamanjoor, Mangalore has offered MRPL to participate in this unique project to develop 20 acres with plantation of different plants from Western Ghat species.
MRPL has now signed a MOU with Dr. Shivarama Karantha Pilikula Nisarga Dhama, Vamanjoor for the Project. MRPL shall be funding the project and Pilikula society will complete the planting of 2000 plants by 31-08-2016 and maintain the same for a period of three years. The MOU was signed by Shri K S Koppalkar, GGM (I/c-Refinery) on behalf of MRPL and Shri Prabhakar Rao, Executive Director on behalf of Pilikula Nisarga Dhama.
