MRPL today donated four ambulances to Taluk Government hospitals of Belthangadi, Sullia, Putthur and Bantwala. Heeding to the appeal of District Administration and the District Health Officer, to augment the healthcare facilities of rural South Kanara, MRPL had come out with a proposal to donate four Ambulances to the four rural corners of the district. This was to help the poor and needy patients of the farthest corners of the district to reach better equipped Hospitals of the Mangalore city. This project was executed as part of the CSR initiative of MRPL which was appreciated and endorsed by the local representatives.

 

 

The handing over programme of four ambulances to Health department of DK district was organised at Govt. Taluk Hospital, Bantwal on 30.10.2019. Shri Kota SrinivasPoojary, Hon’bleMinister of Fisheries, Ports & Inland Transport and District incharge Minister (D.K.) formally handed over the ambulances to District health officials in the presence of Shri Nalin Kumar Kateel,Hon’bleM.P Dakshina Kannada, Shri Rajesh Naik, Hon’bleMLA Bantwal, Ms MeenakshiShantigodu, President ZP, Dr Ramakrishana Rao, District Medical Officer. From MRPL Shri BHV Prasad, GGM-HR and Shri SubrayaBhat, GM-CSR were present during the handing over ceremony. MRPL donated these ambulances with a total expenditure of 52.62 Lakh (Approximate cost of each ambulance is Rs.13.155 Lakh).

Shri Kota SrinivasPoojary thanked MRPL for contributing to the healthcare of the district through this compassionate contribution, he also mentioned that CSR activities of MRPL are playing a vital role in complementing the administration’s efforts to improve local healthcare. MP Shri Kateel, encouraged MRPL for taking up rural healthcare as an area of CSR contribution. District Medical Officer Shri Rao appreciated MRPL for active and timely response to districts healthcare needs.
